This sardine tin art evokes nostalgia, fond memories of childhood worlds of fantasy and yearnings for a rural idyll. The lead figure of the farmer is part of a model farm series produced by 'Britains' between 1923 and 1966, when plastic figures began to be produced as an alternative. The farm toys were hugely popular with children during that period, and frequently cause a nostalgic smile in people of a certain age… These are placed in a 3d diorama, constructed with hand coloured images from a vintage book.
